You perceive the world with particular attention to nature. You focus on the hidden treasures of life (the background) and how that is affected by the details of life. You are also particularly drawn towards the colors around you. Because of the value you place on nature, you tend to find comfort in more subdued settings and find energy in solitude. You like to ponder ideas and imagine the many possibilities of your life without worrying about the details or specifics. You are highly focused on specific goals or tasks and find meaning in life by pursuing those goals. You are a down-to-earth person who enjoys going with the flow.

LASIK

Must take care of eyes more now... coz i just underwent LASIK!

Decided to go for it as my contact lens had just expired (2yrs) and I am supposed to be making a new pair. But recently, people around me have been going for LASIK and since I have been pondering about this for some time liao too, i thought, why not? So i asked PQ for her doc's contact and off i went for it...

Went for my pre-LASIK assessment on Monday, where i took a couple of tests to ascertain my power and to assess if I am suitable for LASIK. And yes, i was! Booked the surgery date in the same week 2 days later, so fast!

The actual surgery... Actually I wasn't that nervous on the day before the surgery, in fact i was more of excited when my colleagues asked me about it. But on the day itself, it certainly was abit scary... I was wondering if i would be so scared until I faint, then how?

Went into the surgery room and lied down. The doc taped my right eye and clamped it to prevent blinking and talked to me to calm me down. The only thing I should do, he said, is to focus on the blinking red light.

After a while, he applied some pressure, which i presume was some thing over the eyeball to allow him to cut the cornea. With it, my vision darkened totally (i thought i was fainting... haa) before the red light comes back on, but fuzzy and blurry now. And I could smell the laser or some burning smell, and the doctor went "25% complete, 50% complete and u are doing very well, 75%, 90% and done." And after some washing, my right eye was done!

And the same for my left eye! However, he had to apply the pressure thing over my eye twice as the first one does not seem to be the correct size. Also, for my left eye, the doctor put in a contact lens after the op to protect the cornea.

The whole operation was really fast, maybe 5 mins max for each eye? After the op, it just seems like a dream. There isn't really much pain (only pain i felt was when the pressure was applied on my left eye), but i did feel a bit uncomfortable though in the middle of the operation when i suddenly thought "OMG i am wide awake now and the doc is now cutting my cornea but i dun feel anything!" Haha...

After the op and today's post op review, the doc kept saying "Perfect!" when he looked at the fruit of his labour. Haha. My left eye is still red today after the op, which the doc explained was due to my over-nervousness during the op where i squirmed my eye. This might have caused some blood vessels to burst and perhaps the reason why he put in a contact lens to protect my left cornea. But it will be fine and the redness will go away in a few days time.

The redness is the only problem i am facing. Still, i have to put eyedrops every now and then as advised by the doc, and not only when i feel blurry (sign of dryness).

About 36 hours after the operation now... And I am feeling great! And seeing great too!

comex

This week... spend and spend!

1. Comex 2008

Went with CY and ZQ, where CY bought his samsung smart phone and ZQ bought a laptop too.
Me bought a LG laptop, which everyone asked, "LG? Got laptop?" "Strange brand to buy laptop ah..."

I also dunno why i bought LG... Haha... Need one which i can play Starcraft2 when it comes out next year. Better come out soon! Now got what good games ah... hmmm...

Then I went to the DBS lucky dip booth. The lucky dip goes like this: For every S$X spent, the customer will receive a coupon, which he will slot into the system, press a button and then the screen will show 3 cars racing. If his luck is good, his car will overtake the others and he will win a big prize (eg mp3 player, good earphones, sony bravia tv). Otherwise, he will just get a wirelss optical mouse.

The person in front of me had 2 coupons, the first coupon: mouse. The 2nd coupon, his car overtake the others and he got a big prize. Ok... Then the screen showed "SONY BRAVIA TV"! That was the ultimate big prize! Everyone went "wah! oooh!" And he walked off happily with a Sony Bravia TV (dunno what inch la).

The point is, if he had only 1 coupon, it could be me winning the tv!

So it's my turn, and i told the attendant, "He so lucky... Me confirm... *haiz*"
She: "No, no, You cannot be so sure."

The probability of one big prize after another is usually very slim mah, so I just press the button. And... I also got a big prize! Not TV, but at least a sony mp3 player. Beats a optical mouse anytime!

My laptop has been great so far, only thing is having trouble with wireless. hmmm.

Part 2... next post... need to rest my eyes... =)

post reservist

I'm back in the civilian life once again, reservist ended.

It had been a siong week, even the CO admitted that the exercise we had was one of the most siong exercises in SAF. It lasted for a week, and during the outfield, all of us experienced some forms of tempers, low-morale, weariness. Yet when I look back now, I get all sorts of mixed emotions.

Don't get me wrong, if given a choice, i believe none of us (including me) wanted to go through the outfield exercise. But honestly I do learn some valuable lessons from it. Like how to focus only on the positive thoughts when instructions change suddenly, not to flare up and be further demoralised when people around me start complaining (on how they have a choice and will defer next time round), communicate with people of different backgrounds and age etc.

I think the reservist had made me a more positive person. I hope so.

====

I went for my first wakeboarding session! It was a fun experience, esp the adrenaline rush when i managed to stand up and move along on the waves! Photos not in my cam, shall post up the photos and blog about it when i get them.

Wakeboarding is so much more fun than the cable-skiing imo! I have 2nd thoughts about going cable ski again, but i definitely will not mind going wakeboarding for a 2nd time, or a 3rd, or 4th...!

======

Oh... and I finally bought my tix to...

I can't wait to catch her! I missed her concert last year, so its great that she's coming again! Pity the most exp tix are sold out, otherwise i might get the most exp tix.

1 mth plus to a*mei concert!

======

Comex is coming next week. Pity its not in Expo coz i stay in the east.
Need to get a laptop, portable harddisk and perhaps a tv as well.

And maybe a digicam? =)

- Slept. I thought a slept alot in the first week of my reservist le. Hmmmm.

- Drove in the evening to meet nbs gang. It was an adventure ride, as described by smint. Haha... my excuses were that it was dark and post-rain, and that it was my first time driving so far, and that it was my 2nd time driving out, and that i had a passenger, and that my first time using that car. Whatever, we had a great time hanging out. And of coz, saw the GF for the first time, u guys look good together! Must wish WH all the best =)

- Bought more army stuff. And food for outfield. I really think i spent a lot in this outfield.

- Checked my office email. Well... thanks to my collegaues for covering me... Wonder what will come next week from the clients...

Such a whiny post... but really ah, how come my non-ATEC reservist is so siong one??

reservist week 1

I am out of camp for this weekend!

Honestly, this week has been quite a relaxing week. No work, not much stress, managed to catch up on lost sleep, even managed to go to the gym once, managed to go nights off once. Eh, sounds good??

Partly because there is gonna be a 8 DAY OUTFIELD next week! So this week has to be relaxing mah. (8 days outfield!! sigh!)

This is my 5th ICT and is my longest ICT so far.

I like:

- Location. Geez... the new Jurong Camp II is not at some ulu place in tuas or some nature reserve place, but next to civilisation. Right out from my window, I can see NTU, and to be even more specific, can see the words "Nanyang Business School"! Woah! And then memories of nbs days keep coming back... Oh, and almost no mosquitoes in the new camp!

- The new camp. It's really new. Spring mattress, clean toilets, big space, there's even a personal power supply for each bed!

- The people. The bond is still there. Yep. Eveeryone still look the same, and more people have gone lasik. My turn should come next!

I dislike:
- Some people. Ok a certain person whom i really shouldn't elaborate more coz he really... CMI...

- The 8 day outfield... Now i have to buy more things for the outfield to comply with the standard list. And the SAF now gives out this special solution to soak our clothes in, and there will be this aura or protective field to keep the mozzies away. But hor, the soultion stinks...

- More acne outbreak. Ouch.

Morale was also down for a day when mr t out-pro-ed all of a sudden on the 2nd day after being led away by the OC. It appears that none of us really know why, and the commanders seem quite secretive about it too, but also seems like most of them dun really know too. So there's still this worrying in our hearts for mr t. Can only pray he'll be fine...

Won't be booking out next weekend due to the 8-day outfield... haaaaiz!

Anyway it was great to meet up with u guys again... shall do so again sometime!

_____ _____ _____

Going reservist for the next 2 weeks plus!
No work, no irritating clients, no emails!
But got sun and rain, got outfield, got chiong sua...

People around me, especially the girls, always say, "Wah so good! Reservist! Get paid to do nothing!". Which is totally untrue!

Pre-reservist:

- Cut hair. Tell hairstylist "Going reservist" and he says "i get it".
- And i'm glad it ain't disastrous! (Hopefully it will gain favour in the RSM's eyes...)

- Go back office to clear backlog.
- I never knew my in-tray had so much stuff! Some to file, some to action, and of course, some to dump.

- Go beach road sew the new nametags.
- Since at beach road, might as well get some essentials...
- And since already at beach road, might as well get some eh, luxury items...

- Also need to go supermarket buy small sized shampoo, body foam and toiletries...
- Since at supermarket, might as well buy some leisure items e.g. magazines.

- Need to pack! Pack standard items first...
- Eh, no space to pack the other items...
- Where's my lock?? Where's my beret??
- Forgot to buy some things! *go downstairs*
- Now have to find more space to squeeze.

spend money, spend time >_<

And this is only the pre-reservist! And yeah, reservist is not all about sleep and relax! Must chiong one! ^^
